Job description
A highly academic independent Mixed School in Jesmond North, celebrated for its strong Social Sciences provision and university progression rates, is seeking an ambitious Economics Teacher for a Permanent, Full-Time position, commencing January 2026. Compensation & Contract Job Title: Economics Teacher Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Start Date: January 2026 Salary: Highly competitive independent school salary, reflecting the specialized subject and experience. The Role The successful Economics Teacher will take ownership of teaching Economics across Key Stages 4 (GCSE) and 5 (A-Level), inspiring a genuine passion for financial literacy and macro/micro concepts. You will join a high-performing faculty, benefiting from dedicated time for resource creation and collaborative strategy planning. The Economics Teacher is expected to contribute to the school's enrichment programme, potentially by running an investment society or coordinating inter-school debating competitions. The role requires the Economics Teacher to mentor students applying for competitive university courses in economics and finance.
