Job description
Are you a passionate Maths ECT excited to start your teaching career in a supportive, forward-thinking school? We are seeking a Maths ECT to join an 11–16 Ofsted Good secondary school in Essex from January 2026 . This is a permanent position, ideal for a trainee currently completing their ITT and looking for a secure, nurturing first role. About the School The school serves a diverse, welcoming community and is proud of its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral care. The Maths department is well-resourced and collaborative, with a track record of supporting ECTs to develop confidence, excellent classroom practice, and strong outcomes. Behaviour is good, and leadership is approachable and visible around the school. The Role Position: Maths ECT Location: Essex Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent, Full-Time As our Maths ECT, you will: Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4 . Follow well-structured schemes of work with plenty of shared resources. Receive a reduced teaching timetable and protected ECT time. Work closely with an experienced ECT mentor and Head of Department. Contribute to Maths intervention, revision sessions and clubs as you grow in confidence. What We’re Looking For Currently training towards QTS (or recently qualified). Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Maths. Reflective, organised and open to feedback.
