Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative, enthusiastic and committed Music Teacher to join an excellent secondary school in Swindon. This is a full-time, permanent position, starting April 2026 , and would suit a teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people through music. Job Overview The successful candidate will teach Music across KS3–KS4, with the potential for KS5 involvement depending on experience. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ performance, composition and listening skills, while contributing to a vibrant extra-curricular music programme. The school is keen to appoint a Music Teacher who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and playing an active role in the wider life of the school. Music is highly valued within the curriculum and is an important part of school culture. Staff work in a positive, professional environment where creativity is encouraged and teaching is well supported by leadership. The Music Department The department benefits from: • A well-equipped music suite with practice rooms • Digital composition and recording facilities • Active choirs, bands and instrumental ensembles • Regular concerts, performances and school productions • Strong student engagement and uptake at KS4 Experience & Qualifications • Degree in Music or a related subject • PGCE with QTS • Strong musical background in performance and/or composition • Ability to inspire students and contribute to extra-curricular music Salary MPS/UPS, dependent on experience.
