Job description
An outstanding secondary school in Bath is seeking an ambitious and skilled Lead Teacher of Design & Technology to join its successful DT department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DT specialist to take on a key leadership role within a high-performing school known for academic excellence, strong behaviour, and supportive leadership. Design & Technology is a valued and well-supported subject within the school, with strong uptake at KS4 and a clear focus on creativity, innovation, and practical skill development. The Role Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on specialism Leading on teaching and learning within the DT department Driving high standards in coursework, NEA, and project-based learning Supporting curriculum development and assessment strategies Maintaining high standards of health and safety across workshops Coaching and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistent high-quality practice The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Design & Technology or a closely related subject Proven experience teaching DT at secondary level A strong track record of excellent pupil outcomes Experience leading initiatives or contributing to departmental improvement High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and achievement School Information This outstanding secondary school in Bath is recognised for its exceptional academic standards, exemplary behaviour, and strong culture of ambition.
