Job description
A well-established secondary school in Bromsgrove is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented School Finance Officer to join its administrative team from January 2026 . The Role This is a key position within the school’s operations, responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial processes and supporting senior leaders with accurate budget management. You will manage purchase orders, invoicing, reconciliations and budget tracking, ensuring financial procedures align with both school policy and local authority requirements. You will work closely with the Headteacher, Business Manager and department leads, providing clear financial information to support planning and decision-making. The School The school is a stable, well-led 11–18 setting with a reputation for strong organisation and calm, professional working practices. Staff are valued, and systems are well established, allowing the finance team to work efficiently and collaboratively. Ideal Candidate Previous experience in school finance or public-sector finance Strong knowledge of finance systems and Excel Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Confident communicator able to work with both teaching and non-teaching staff A fantastic opportunity for a Finance Officer seeking a secure, respected role within a supportive school environment.
