About the College: A thriving sixth form college in Hillingdon with a strong academic reputation and a commitment to providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for all students seeks a dedicated and passionate Economics Teacher to join our team. We offer a wide range of A-Level subjects and a supportive environment where students are encouraged to pursue their academic passions and prepare for higher education and future careers. About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower young minds to explore the complexities of the economy and the forces that shape our world. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Economics lessons, fostering students' critical thinking skills, and encouraging them to analyze economic trends, policies, and challenges. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Economics lessons for A-Level students in line with exam board specifications and the college's academic standards. Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore economic concepts and theories with curiosity and enthusiasm. Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the college's vision and the latest advancements in Economics education. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential. Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a growth mindset and a belief in their ability to understand the complexities of the economy. Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings. Participate in college-wide events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider college community. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Economics Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of economic concepts and theories. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Economics, with a strong understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and current economic issues. Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
