Job description
A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Gloucester is seeking a diligent and organised Finance Assistant to join their supportive administration team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent position within a busy school office, providing essential financial and administrative support. • Finance Assistant required – full-time, permanent • Inclusive 11–16/18 school in Gloucester • ASAP start • Competitive salary in line with local government pay scales About the Role The successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the school, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with financial procedures. You will work closely with the School Business Manager and wider administrative team to maintain effective financial systems. Key responsibilities include: • Processing purchase orders and invoices • Assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting • Managing petty cash and reconciliation processes • Supporting payroll administration where required • Maintaining accurate and confidential financial records This is a varied role requiring strong numerical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
