Job description
A large and successful secondary school in Essex is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Art for an immediate start . This is a full-time, long-term position within a supportive and well-led school, with the potential for permanence. The School This is a well-established 11–18 secondary school with a strong community reputation and consistently positive behaviour standards. The school places high importance on creativity, inclusion, and student wellbeing. Leadership is highly visible and supportive, and staff benefit from clear structures and professional working practices. The Art department is a key part of the creative curriculum and enjoys strong student uptake at KS3 and KS4. Facilities include spacious Art studios, high-quality resources, secure storage, and dedicated technician support. Students regularly take part in exhibitions and creative competitions. The Role You will be responsible for delivering engaging Art lessons across KS3 and KS4 , supporting GCSE coursework, and preparing students for formal assessments. You will contribute to departmental planning, moderation, displays, and enrichment activities, and may have the opportunity to support post-16 teaching depending on experience. This is a hands-on, practical role requiring strong organisation, creativity, and classroom presence.
