A prestigious independent day school in Warwickshire is seeking an inspirational Teacher of English to join its academically ambitious Humanities faculty from January 2026 . This is an outstanding opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a setting that values scholarship, creativity and pastoral care in equal measure. The Role You will teach English across KS3–KS5 , delivering a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, articulate expression and a deep appreciation for literature. Expect to work with small, engaged classes who thrive in discussion-led learning and enjoy exploring challenging texts, from Shakespeare and Victorian fiction to contemporary poetry. About the School This is a well-regarded independent school with a strong academic tradition and a warm, community-focused ethos. The English department is located in a characterful part of the campus, with seminar-style classrooms, access to a state-of-the-art library, and shared digital learning resources. The school places a strong emphasis on creativity and communication — debating clubs, theatre trips, writing competitions and whole-school reading initiatives are integral to the culture. You Will Bring QTS or equivalent with strong English subject expertise A passion for developing high-level analytical and writing skills Ability to inspire confidence and intellectual curiosity Commitment to enrichment: debating, drama or creative writing What’s on Offer Competitive independent school salary Small classes, excellent behaviour and motivated pupils Free lunch, parking and access to school facilities Exceptional CPD and leadership pathways If you are an English specialist seeking a school where academic excellence and creative expression flourish, we would be delighted to receive your CV.
