Job description
Are you an ECT of Maths looking to join a forward-thinking and supportive school? • Maths ECT • Full time • January 2026 start • Teaching Maths across KS3–KS5 • Supportive and experienced Maths department An ambitious and well-established secondary school in Bristol is seeking a Maths Early Career Teacher to start a full-time, permanent position from January 2026. The school is looking for a passionate Maths ECT who is eager to develop their practice within a collaborative and structured department. You will teach Maths across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to gain experience at KS5 over time. The department has a strong culture of shared planning, mentoring, and professional dialogue, making it an ideal setting for an ECT. School Information This mixed secondary school educates approximately 1,350 students aged 11–18 and is known for its inclusive ethos, positive student behaviour, and strong leadership. The school places a high value on staff wellbeing and professional growth. Early Career Teachers benefit from a comprehensive induction programme, experienced subject mentors, and access to high-quality CPD. The Maths department achieves strong outcomes and is well supported with modern classrooms, resources, and technology. Students are engaged, expectations are high, and the school has a positive and aspirational culture. Experience and Qualifications • PGCE in Mathematics with QTS (or pending) • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Maths • Ability to inspire and support learners of all abilities • A reflective and committed approach to teaching Salary Paid to scale (MPS) on a direct contract.
