Job description
School Business Manager (SBM) – Good Secondary School – Surrey Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This fantastic 11–18 secondary school in Surrey is widely respected for its strong leadership, financial stability, and high academic performance. The school operates with clear governance structures and robust operational systems. The Business Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the school runs efficiently and sustainably. With continued growth and strategic development plans, the school is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking School Business Manager. Role Overview The SBM will oversee financial management, HR processes, and site operations. Key responsibilities include: Managing school budgets and financial planning Overseeing HR and recruitment processes Managing contracts and procurement Leading administrative and site teams Supporting strategic development plans Ensuring regulatory compliance Preparing financial reports for governors Monitoring expenditure and value for money Managing payroll oversight Supporting capital projects This is a senior leadership support role requiring strategic thinking. Leadership & Operations Team The SBM works closely with the Headteacher and governing body to support school improvement.
