Job description
A high-achieving and academically focused secondary school in Slough is seeking a talented and ambitious Second in Charge of Art to join its successful department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Art Teacher looking to take the next step in leadership within a structured and high-performing environment. Art is a respected and well-supported subject within the school, with strong uptake at KS4 and a clear emphasis on both technical skill development and creative expression. The Role Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Supporting the Head of Art in leading and developing the department Assisting with curriculum planning, assessment, and moderation Driving high standards in coursework, sketchbook development, and final outcomes Supporting exhibitions, displays, and enrichment opportunities Contributing to whole-school academic initiatives and improvement planning The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related subject Proven experience teaching Art at secondary level A strong track record of excellent classroom practice and pupil progress Experience supporting departmental initiatives or readiness to step into leadership High expectations for pupil engagement, creativity, and achievement School Information This academic secondary school in Slough is known for its strong academic standards, structured systems, and supportive leadership team.
