Job description
Are you a creative and passionate Music ECT looking to start your teaching journey in a supportive and vibrant school? A successful and inclusive secondary school in Gloucester is seeking an energetic Music ECT to join its Performing Arts Department from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role, perfect for a new teacher with enthusiasm, drive, and a love of music education. The Role You will teach Music across KS3–KS5, using your creativity to inspire students in performance, composition, and appreciation. The department is known for its thriving extra-curricular programme — with choirs, ensembles, and school productions that celebrate student talent. You’ll have opportunities to lead or assist with these, helping to bring music to the heart of school life. You’ll receive excellent ECT support including regular mentoring, training sessions, and access to the school’s Performing Arts network, which connects teachers across the trust for shared professional learning. The School With around 1,100 students aged 11–18, this Gloucester school has built a reputation for academic strength and community spirit. It has recently been recognised for its exceptional pastoral care and performing arts provision, and students regularly take part in county-wide music competitions and showcases. Facilities include dedicated rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, and a large performance hall, giving staff the tools to deliver dynamic and inspiring lessons. Why Join?
