Job description
An Outstanding High School in Barnet is recruiting a permanent, full-time Teacher of Science, specialising in Physics, starting January 2026. Join a nationally recognised school celebrated for its exceptional Science and Mathematics outcomes. The Science department is a beacon of excellence, boasting state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and significant non-contact time allocated for planning and collaboration. The school is committed to academic rigour, fostering intellectual passion, and ensuring all students have access to top-tier university pathways, particularly in STEM fields. Responsibilities You will deliver challenging and high-level instruction in Physics across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE), and 5 (A-Level). Your focus is driving high attainment and cultivating deep theoretical understanding and advanced experimental skills. You will be expected to teach all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Science, or Triple Science). You must contribute to the school's high-profile academic clubs, including Physics Olympiads and Engineering challenges. Requirements You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You must have passed your induction period and have a strong record of teaching success, particularly in Physics at A-Level. You must have the right to work in the UK. You must hold a Degree in Physics or a closely related scientific field.
