This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025. About the Economics Department: The Economics department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for exploring economic principles, analyzing global markets, and understanding the complexities of the international economy. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from microeconomics and macroeconomics to international trade and development economics. About the Role: Teach Economics at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of economic concepts and their application to the global economy. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Support students in preparing for their A Level Economics examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to succeed. Guide students in conducting independent research and completing challenging coursework, fostering their critical thinking and analytical skills. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Economics curriculum remains relevant, engaging, and rigorous. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Economics education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Economics , with a particular interest in global economic issues. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Economics and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment. Has a good understanding of the A Level Economics specifications and assessment requirements. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
