Job description
An Ofsted Outstanding school in Essex is seeking a committed ECT Computer Science Teacher to join its innovative digital faculty from January 2026. Key Details • Role: ECT Computer Science Teacher (GCSE & A-Level) • School: Outstanding Secondary School (11–18), Essex • Start: January 2026 • Suitability: CS ECTs • Exam Boards: OCR desirable About the School The school educates around 1,100 pupils and is widely recognised for exceptional STEM performance, advanced ICT infrastructure, and cutting-edge digital learning environments. Computer Science classrooms include industry-standard programming tools and robotics resources. ECTs receive outstanding mentoring, weekly coaching sessions, and a supportive team culture. The Role – What You’ll Do • Teach Computer Science at KS4–KS5. • Deliver programming (Python/Java), cybersecurity, databases, and algorithms. • Use AFL and intervention strategies to support rapid progress. • Help run enrichment: coding clubs, esports, robotics, hackathons. • Contribute to schemes of work, digital resources, and exam practice materials. • Maintain strong behaviour expectations and an inspiring learning atmosphere. • Support pastoral and wider school commitments. Person Specification Essential: CS degree, PGCE/QTS, strong programming knowledge. Desirable: OCR experience, prior involvement with STEM clubs.
