Job description
Head of Religious Studies – Faith-Based School in Aylesbury A respected Christian secondary school in Aylesbury is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated Head of Religious Studies to lead a department central to the school’s mission of nurturing both minds and spirits through Religious Studies. About the School Grounded in Christian values, the school fosters a nurturing and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to reflect, ask big questions, and develop a strong moral compass through Religious Studies. Religious Studies is a core subject, integral to both academic and spiritual life. The Role As Head of Religious Studies, you will: • Provide strategic and spiritual leadership for the Religious Studies department across all key stages. • Teach high-quality Religious Studies lessons that explore faith, ethics, and philosophy with academic depth and pastoral care. • Organise enrichment opportunities such as chapel services, retreats, and charity projects related to Religious Studies. • Support students preparing for GCSE, A-Level, and further study in Religious Studies. • Champion Christian values while respecting and exploring diverse worldviews in Religious Studies.
