Job description
Are you a creative and enthusiastic Art ECT looking to begin your teaching journey in a nurturing and forward-thinking school? A high-performing secondary school in Dorset is seeking a dedicated Art ECT to join its vibrant Art Department from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for a teacher who believes in the power of creativity to inspire confidence and expression. The Role You will teach Art & Design across KS3–KS5, delivering engaging lessons that help students experiment with media and develop their own artistic voice. The department encourages innovation, collaboration, and project-based learning — and you’ll have opportunities to support school exhibitions, art clubs, and community projects. You’ll receive full support through a structured ECT induction programme, with a personal mentor and ongoing professional development to help you grow as an educator. The School This Dorset school serves around 1,100 students and is well-known for its academic success and inclusive ethos. The Art Department is housed in purpose-built studios with digital equipment, ceramics spaces, and gallery areas for displaying student work. Students are creative and motivated, regularly achieving top GCSE and A-Level grades, while staff benefit from a supportive, caring, and collaborative culture. Why Join?
