Job description
A prestigious school in Portsmouth is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Design and Technology to join their dynamic and well-resourced DT department from ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for a DT teacher to inspire students and help them develop practical and theoretical skills in Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach a specialism at KS5. The successful Teacher of Design and Technology will work in a collaborative and forward-thinking DT department, delivering engaging and innovative lessons that encourage creativity and problem-solving. The school has a strong reputation for academic success and provides excellent facilities, including state-of-the-art workshops and cutting-edge design software. This role is suitable for both experienced DT teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for a supportive environment to grow their careers. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4, with a specialism to KS5 Inspire students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences in DT Plan and deliver a curriculum that develops technical knowledge and practical skills in DT Use industry-standard equipment and software to enhance learning in DT Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback Contribute to departmental projects and extracurricular DT activities School Information A high-achieving school in Portsmouth with excellent academic results Well-equipped DT department with modern facilities and tools Supportive leadership team with a strong focus on teacher development Excellent location with great transport links and local amenities Requirements A formal teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE or equivalent) Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Design and Technology at KS3 and KS4, with a specialism to KS5 Passion for DT and a commitment to student success Strong classroom management skills and enthusiasm for practical learning The legal right to work in the UK This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher of Design and Technology to join a thriving DT department in a high-performing school in Portsmouth.
