We are seeking a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher to join our lovely school in Hatfield, starting September 2025. What You’ll Be Doing As a SEND Teacher, you will: Deliver Targeted Lessons: Plan and teach lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of students with SEND, ensuring they receive the support and challenge they need to succeed. Implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs): Develop and monitor ILPs, providing regular updates on student progress and adjusting interventions as needed. Create an Inclusive Environment: Foster a classroom that is welcoming, accessible, and adapted to the needs of all students, encouraging them to reach their full potential. Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure all students receive the necessary support in the classroom. Track and Monitor Progress: Regularly assess the academic and social development of students with SEND, using data to inform planning and interventions. Build Relationships with Parents and External Agencies: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child’s development. Support Emotional and Social Development: Help students build confidence, independence, and resilience, fostering a positive attitude towards learning and life. What We’re Looking For We are looking for a SEND Teacher who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience working with children with special educational needs. Has experience in teaching students with a range of SEND, including learning difficulties, autism, and other additional needs. Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and is experienced in implementing personalized learning plans. Is passionate about inclusive education and dedicated to helping students with SEND thrive academically and socially. Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Is patient, adaptable, and able to create a positive, engaging learning environment for all students. Is committed to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with the latest best practices in SEND.
