Job description
A prestigious and high-achieving secondary school in Wiltshire is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Biology to join its successful Science faculty from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Biology specialist to lead and further develop a high-performing subject area within a school known for academic excellence and high standards. Biology is a popular and well-established subject within the school, with strong uptake at GCSE and A Level and consistently strong outcomes. The Role Teaching Biology across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 expected Leading and managing the Biology provision within the Science department Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment in Biology Overseeing curriculum development and examination performance Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the department Contributing to whole-school initiatives and academic enrichment The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Biology or a closely related subject Proven experience teaching Biology at secondary level, including KS5 Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a Head of Biology role A strong track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes Excellent organisational and communication skills School Information This prestigious secondary school in Wiltshire is known for its strong academic standards, positive pupil behaviour, and supportive leadership team.
