Job description
Finance Officer required January 2026 Established mixed secondary school based in Braintree Finance Officer to join a well-structured and professional finance department Our Client is seeking a Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy secondary school in Braintree. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing supplier accounts, reconciling transactions, supporting budget monitoring and assisting with financial reporting in line with school procedures. School Information This 11–18 secondary school educates approximately 1,250 pupils and operates within a highly organised administrative structure that supports both teaching and operational excellence. The finance department works closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate budget control, compliance with audit requirements and smooth financial operations throughout the academic year. Staff describe the school environment as structured, professional and supportive. Leadership places strong value on the contribution of support staff and provides regular training, clear systems and long-term progression opportunities within school finance. The finance team benefits from modern financial software, clear workflows and a collaborative working culture.
