Are you an inspiring and visionary Head of Maths seeking a leadership role within an outstanding independent school in Manchester? This is a superb opportunity for an experienced and passionate Head of Maths to lead and further develop a successful Mathematics department within a respected independent school in Manchester, commencing in April 2026 . About the Role Role: Head of Maths Start Date: April 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Location: Manchester Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience The successful candidate will provide strategic and academic leadership for Mathematics, delivering an ambitious and intellectually rigorous curriculum that builds confidence, fluency, and strong problem-solving skills. They will inspire both students and colleagues, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement across all key stages. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Maths department, setting a clear strategic vision for curriculum development and teaching excellence. Deliver outstanding Maths teaching across KS3–KS5, including GCSE and A-Level. Mentor, support, and develop departmental colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Monitor student progress and attainment, using assessment data to inform teaching and raise achievement. Promote mathematical enrichment through competitions, problem-solving initiatives, and wider school activities. Contribute actively to the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life of the school.
