Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Psychology Teacher to take on the role of Head of Psychology as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in Stafford. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who is eager to lead a thriving department, shape the curriculum, and contribute to the school’s wider strategic vision. School Information The school is committed to academic excellence and providing students with a well-rounded education that fosters critical thinking and analytical skills. The Psychology department is a key part of the school's sixth form offer, with strong student interest at KS4 and KS5 . The curriculum is engaging and research-led, ensuring students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical application skills. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive leadership team in a school that values professional development and innovation. The Role Lead and develop the Psychology department , ensuring outstanding teaching and learning at KS4 and KS5 . Oversee curriculum design, integrating contemporary psychological theories and research. Inspire and support a team of teachers, promoting best practices in pedagogy and assessment. Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to drive whole-school initiatives and student achievement. Monitor student progress, implementing strategies to enhance attainment and engagement in Psychology. What We’re Looking For A degree in Psychology or a related field , along with PGCE/QTS . Experience teaching Psychology at KS4 and KS5 , with a track record of student success. Leadership experience or strong potential to lead and manage a department effectively.
