Job description
We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join a diverse, aspirational and forward-looking secondary school in Slough. This full-time, permanent position begins January 2026 and is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring artist–educator who is passionate about nurturing creativity, artistic expression and technical skill in young people. About the Art Department The department is vibrant, ambitious and well-resourced. Features include: • Spacious art studios with natural light and specialist areas • Facilities for digital art, photography, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media • Opportunities for students to exhibit work in school galleries, competitions and community events • Strong student engagement at KS3 and KS4, with a growing number taking Art at GCSE • Collaborative planning, shared resources and a supportive team About the Role • Teaching Art across KS3–KS4 • Delivering innovative and enriching lessons across different artistic media • Supporting GCSE coursework, portfolio development and assessment • Contributing to exhibitions, art showcases and creative enrichment • Encouraging students to explore design thinking, experimentation and personal expression • Participating in departmental planning and whole-school arts initiatives Experience and Qualifications • Degree in Art, Fine Art or a closely related field • PGCE with QTS • Strong practical artistic skills and excellent subject knowledge Salary MPS/UPS.
