Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic and inspiring PE Teacher to join a prestigious Independent School in Oxford from January 2026 . This is a full-time position, teaching Physical Education across Key Stages 3–5 , with opportunities to lead on extracurricular sport and competitive fixtures. PE Teacher Independent School, Oxford Full-time position January 2026 Start ECTs considered School Information This leading Independent School has approximately 900 pupils aged 11–18 and is celebrated for its academic excellence, pastoral care, and outstanding sporting provision . The PE department delivers a wide-ranging curriculum supported by excellent facilities, including modern sports halls, fitness suites, and extensive outdoor pitches. The school has a long tradition of sporting success — over 80% of students participate in at least one extracurricular sport , and school teams regularly achieve county and national recognition across athletics, netball, rugby, and football. The PE department also integrates Sports Science and PE Statistics into its sixth form programme, helping students develop analytical and performance-based understanding of sport. Staff enjoy a collaborative and supportive environment , with access to professional development and leadership opportunities within the wider co-curricular programme. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in Sports Science, PE, or a related discipline • QTS or PGCE • Ability to teach PE across Key Stages 3–5 (experience with Sports Science or PE Statistics desirable) • Passion for sport, fitness, and holistic education • Commitment to extracurricular involvement and student engagement Salary Paid to scale (MPS/UPS or Independent equivalent).
