Job description
A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Leeds is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead its busy administrative team. The school serves a vibrant local community and is known for its strong safeguarding culture, positive relationships with families and structured leadership. The Office Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school, acting as the operational link between staff, parents and the senior leadership team. The Role As Office Manager, you will oversee all administrative operations, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant and supportive of teaching and learning. Your responsibilities will include: • Managing the front office and supervising administrative staff • Overseeing pupil admissions, attendance and data management • Supporting financial administration, including purchase orders and budget tracking • Coordinating HR administration such as staff contracts and absence monitoring • Managing communications with parents and external agencies • Ensuring safeguarding and visitor procedures are rigorously followed • Supporting the Headteacher with operational planning and reporting This is a varied and hands-on leadership role within the school’s central team. Who We’re Looking For The successful candidate will: • Have previous experience in school administration, ideally in a primary setting • Demonstrate leadership and team management skills • Be confident using MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor or ScholarPack • Possess strong organisational and financial administration skills • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and staff An understanding of safeguarding and compliance requirements in schools is essential.
