Job description
A well-established secondary school in Colchester is seeking a reliable, organised, and skilled Science Technician to join their Science department. This is a full-time, permanent position, supporting teaching staff and students across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practical lessons. About the Role As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring practical Science lessons run smoothly. You will be responsible for preparing equipment, chemicals, and resources, supporting teachers and students during lessons, and maintaining safe, well-organised laboratory environments. Key Responsibilities • Preparing materials, apparatus, and chemicals for Science lessons • Assisting teachers and students during practical activities • Maintaining and organising laboratory equipment, storage areas, and resources • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and COSHH regulations • Supporting departmental administration, stock control, and ordering resources • Helping with displays, science events, and extracurricular activities • Reporting any equipment faults or maintenance requirements promptly School Information This secondary school in Colchester is known for its strong academic performance, positive student behaviour, and supportive staff culture.
