Job description
A well-regarded 11–18 secondary school in Stowmarket is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Teacher of Business to join its expanding curriculum team. The school has strong links with local employers across Mid Suffolk and has made enterprise education a central part of its Sixth Form offer. Business is a popular and growing subject, with strong GCSE uptake and an increasingly ambitious post-16 cohort. Students respond well to practical, real-world learning and benefit from a curriculum that connects academic theory with modern business practice. The Role You will teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5, with the opportunity to contribute to enterprise and employability initiatives across the school. Lessons are structured and knowledge-rich, with a clear focus on developing analytical thinking, financial literacy and commercial awareness. Key responsibilities include: • Delivering GCSE and A-Level Business • Embedding contemporary case studies and local enterprise examples • Supporting students with coursework and exam preparation • Contributing to enrichment activities such as enterprise days and careers events • Working collaboratively within the Social Sciences faculty There is potential to shape the future direction of enterprise provision as the school continues to develop its post-16 pathways. The Department Business sits within a well-organised Humanities and Social Sciences faculty. Schemes of work are clearly mapped, and shared planning ensures consistency across year groups.
