Job description
Are you an ambitious Science specialist ready to take the next step in your career? An Outstanding secondary school in Peterborough is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Science to lead their successful Science faculty from January . This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to shape curriculum development, mentor staff, and continue the department’s strong record of outstanding academic results. About the Role: As Head of Science, you will provide strategic direction for teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will ensure the highest quality of classroom practice, lead CPD for staff, and oversee curriculum planning and assessment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach to KS5 and play an active role in whole-school leadership. About the School: This Ofsted “Outstanding” academy is widely recognised for its academic excellence, inclusive ethos, and commitment to staff development. The Science faculty enjoys modern laboratories, a collaborative team culture, and a leadership team that values innovation and professional growth. Strong support from senior leadership and governors. Experience and Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree. Successful experience teaching Science to KS4/KS5 . Proven track record of departmental leadership or middle leadership. Strategic thinker with strong communication and organisational skills.
