Job description
An outstanding independent day school in Cambridge is seeking a skilled Business Teacher to join them from January 2026. The successful candidate will teach GCSE and A-Level Business to engaged pupils in small classes. Key Details • Role: Business Teacher (GCSE & A-Level) • School: Independent School (11–18), Cambridge • Start: January 2026 (full-time, permanent) • Suitability: ECTs and experienced teachers welcome • Exam Boards: AQA/Edexcel experience desirable About the School This highly regarded independent school educates around 850 pupils and is renowned for strong humanities provision, modern facilities, and excellent academic outcomes. Students frequently progress to competitive degrees in Business Management, Economics, Marketing, and related fields. Business classrooms are equipped with interactive digital tools and dedicated Sixth Form learning spaces. Staff collaborate closely within a supportive department and benefit from outstanding CPD. The Role – What You’ll Do • Deliver dynamic Business lessons at KS4–KS5. • Teach core content including marketing, finance, operations, and business decision-making. • Provide clear feedback to ensure excellent progress and exam performance. • Support enrichment such as Young Enterprise, entrepreneurship clubs, and competitions. • Contribute to schemes of work, digital resources, and examination preparation. • Encourage a culture of ambition, effort, and academic curiosity. • Participate in wider school life and pastoral duties. Person Specification Essential • Degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline. • QTS/PGCE. • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of exam requirements. • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly. • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing. Desirable • Experience with AQA or Edexcel at GCSE/A-Level. • Experience leading Business-related enrichment. • Ability to support UCAS applications in business-related pathways.
