Job description
A large and highly regarded secondary school in Surrey is seeking an experienced and discreet Senior Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive executive support to the Headteacher. This is a pivotal role at the heart of the school’s leadership structure, suited to a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment. The school is known for its strong academic record, structured operational systems and clear leadership vision. The PA to the Headteacher plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth coordination of strategic priorities and daily executive functions. The Role As Senior PA, you will provide confidential and high-level administrative support to the Headteacher and, at times, the Senior Leadership Team. You will act as gatekeeper, organiser and trusted liaison between internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Managing the Headteacher’s diary, scheduling and prioritising meetings • Preparing briefing documents, reports and board-level correspondence • Coordinating leadership meetings and producing accurate minutes • Managing confidential communication with governors and external agencies • Supporting complaints procedures and formal documentation • Organising school events, strategic reviews and stakeholder visits • Ensuring all communication reflects the school’s professional standards This role demands discretion, efficiency and exceptional organisational ability. The School Environment This Surrey secondary school operates within a structured and ambitious framework. Leadership expectations are high, and administrative support is viewed as essential to maintaining operational excellence. The senior team works collaboratively, and there is a strong culture of professionalism and respect across teaching and support staff. Systems are well established, safeguarding procedures are robust and communication lines are clear. The PA role is central to ensuring continuity, organisation and effective leadership coordination. About You • Extensive experience as a PA or executive administrator • Outstanding organisational and time-management skills • Strong written communication and minute-taking ability • High level of discretion and professionalism • Confident managing confidential and sensitive information • Proficient in Microsoft Office and administrative systems Experience working within a school or public-sector environment would be highly advantageous. What’s on Offer • Competitive salary within leadership support pay scales • Opportunity to work closely with a dynamic senior leadership team • Professional and structured working environment • High-trust role with meaningful responsibility • Stable and well-resourced school setting This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced executive administrator seeking a senior, high-impact role within a respected Surrey secondary school.
