Job description
A well-equipped secondary school in Kidderminster is seeking a skilled and reliable Art Technician to join its Art Department. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for someone with practical experience in art materials, equipment, and resources, supporting both teaching staff and students in a creative learning environment. The Art Department offers students opportunities to explore a wide range of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. The Art Technician plays a key role in supporting lessons, ensuring the department is well-resourced and safe for practical activities. Role Responsibilities As Art Technician, your responsibilities will include: Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for art lessons and projects. Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions, including setting up and clearing workspaces. Maintaining the Art Department’s equipment, tools, and storage areas. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including safe handling of materials and disposal of hazardous substances. Monitoring and managing stock of art materials, ordering supplies as necessary. Assisting students with technical aspects of projects when required. Supporting the department in exhibitions, displays, and school events showcasing student work. Candidate Requirements Previous experience working in an Art Technician or similar role. Practical knowledge of a wide range of art materials and techniques. Awareness of health and safety regulations related to art education.
