Job description
The Headteacher of this high-performing secondary school in Wimbledon is looking to appoint an experienced and organised Design Technology Technician to support a busy and well-resourced DT department from January . This is a crucial role in ensuring practical lessons are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role is ideal for a DT Technician with previous school-based experience or someone with strong technical or workshop expertise who values structure, organisation, and working as part of a professional team. The school places strong emphasis on health and safety, clear routines, and high expectations across all practical spaces. You will work closely with DT teachers to prepare equipment and materials, maintain machinery and tools, manage stock, and support the safe operation of workshops during practical sessions. Attention to detail, organisation, and consistency are key to success in this role. What the school is looking for: Wimbledon January Start Design Technology Technician Full-Time | Permanent Experience supporting DT workshops or technical environments Strong understanding of workshop safety and risk assessments Ability to maintain and repair tools and machinery Experience managing stock, materials, and equipment A calm, reliable, and proactive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills The successful DT Technician will take pride in maintaining high standards across DT facilities and supporting students and staff in accessing high-quality practical learning.
