Job description
We are delighted to invite applications for a passionate and creative Music ECT to join a thriving Independent School in Bournemouth. This full-time, permanent post begins January 2026 and offers an exceptional environment for an early career teacher to develop their craft within a school renowned for its performing arts excellence. This independent school is celebrated for its strong musical culture, nurturing ethos, and high levels of student engagement. The Music Department enjoys outstanding facilities including practice rooms, a professional-standard recording studio, ensemble spaces, and a dedicated auditorium. Students perform in choirs, orchestras, bands, and musical theatre productions, with many securing regional and national accolades. You will teach Music across KS3–KS5, delivering inspiring lessons in performance, composition, and musical understanding. The school places great emphasis on co-curricular involvement, and the successful candidate will support ensembles, concerts, recitals, and whole-school productions. As an ECT, you will benefit from outstanding mentoring, weekly developmental coaching, and access to specialist music CPD.
