Job description
Secondary SEN Teacher – Specialist SEN School – Haringey – ASAP Start Position: Secondary SEN Teacher Location: Haringey Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teacher to join our specialist SEN school in Haringey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about working with students with special educational needs and wants to make a significant impact in a supportive and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN. Support students in both one-to-one and small group settings, helping them to overcome barriers to learning. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other professionals. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated. Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students' academic, social, and emotional needs. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods and interventions as needed. Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to SEN provision across the school. Who We’re Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching students with special educational needs, ideally in a secondary school setting. Strong understanding of SEN strategies and the ability to differentiate learning to meet individual needs. A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to working with students with diverse needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Why Join Us?
