Job description
A high achieving and well-regarded secondary school in Amersham is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its successful department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils within a structured and academically ambitious environment where high expectations and strong outcomes are embedded across all key stages. Science is a core strength of the school, with consistently strong GCSE results and a growing A Level cohort across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The department benefits from modern laboratories, well-sequenced schemes of work, and a collaborative culture focused on delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The Role Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on subject specialism Delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that promote deep conceptual understanding Supporting pupils with practical investigations and examination preparation Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted strategies to raise attainment Contributing to curriculum refinement and departmental development planning Supporting STEM enrichment activities and wider school initiatives Maintaining high standards of laboratory safety and compliance The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline Experience teaching Science at secondary level Strong subject knowledge and confident practical delivery skills High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and achievement A professional, organised, and reflective teaching approach This Amersham secondary school benefits from supportive leadership, strong academic systems, and a Science department committed to maintaining excellent outcomes.
