Year 1 Teacher – Notting Hill

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Notting Hill, starting as soon as possible. As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ early literacy, numeracy, and phonics development while fostering independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum Deliver high-quality phonics, literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject teaching Support pupils transitioning from EYFS into Key Stage 1 Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1 Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills Be nurturing, enthusiastic, and adaptable Show a strong understanding of early primary teaching and learning Be reflective and committed to professional development Have a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Notting Hill, with excellent transport links and a vibrant local community.
