The Role The Head of Music will lead the department and oversee the delivery of an engaging and inclusive music curriculum. Key responsibilities include: Leading and managing the Music Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning Teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 Preparing pupils for GCSE Music examinations, securing strong academic outcomes Developing a broad extra-curricular music programme, including choirs, ensembles and instrumental groups Organising and leading school concerts, performances and musical events Supporting pupils preparing for instrumental examinations and further study in music Managing departmental resources, including instruments, equipment and rehearsal spaces Working collaboratively with senior leaders and staff to support the wider life of the school The successful candidate will also contribute to the school’s enrichment programme and wider cultural activities.
