Job description
Admissions Officer – Outstanding Secondary School – Brighton Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Brighton is recognised for its high academic standards, inclusive ethos, and strong parental engagement. The school has grown steadily in recent years and remains heavily oversubscribed due to its reputation for excellence and student wellbeing. Admissions are a key part of the school’s public image and operational efficiency. The admissions team works closely with families, senior leaders, and the local authority to ensure a smooth, transparent process. The school is seeking a professional and organised Admissions Officer to manage admissions procedures and support recruitment and enrolment. Role Overview The Admissions Officer will manage all aspects of the admissions process. Key responsibilities include: Managing applications and enrolment procedures Liaising with parents and carers Coordinating open evenings and school tours Maintaining admissions records and databases Working with the local authority on in-year admissions Preparing admissions reports for leadership Ensuring compliance with admissions policies Supporting transition processes Managing waiting lists Communicating decisions professionally and efficiently This role requires accuracy, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills. Administration & Leadership Team The Admissions Officer works closely with the Headteacher and administrative team to maintain an efficient and welcoming admissions process. Candidate Requirements Experience in admissions or school administration Strong organisational skills Excellent communication ability Ability to manage high volumes of applications IT proficiency Professional and approachable manner Commitment to safeguarding Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
