Job description
  • Psychology Teacher required to work on a full-time position from January 2026 • Mixed 11–18 secondary college with thriving Sixth Form in Bournemouth • Psychology Teacher to join a vibrant and well-resourced Social Sciences department Our client is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Psychology Teacher to join a high-performing secondary college offering education from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. The successful teacher will deliver engaging Psychology lessons across GCSE and A-Level, working closely within a forward-thinking department led by an experienced and supportive Head of Social Sciences. School Information This 11–18 secondary college is consistently oversubscribed, with over 1,200 students on roll and an outstanding reputation across Dorset. The school offers a broad and academically rigorous curriculum, with exceptional provision in the Social Sciences. Psychology is one of the most popular A-Level subjects, with strong student outcomes and excellent progression to university study in psychology, social sciences, and related fields. The department benefits from modern, well-equipped classrooms and access to digital learning platforms that enhance research and analytical skills. Staff work collaboratively to develop stimulating lessons, and students are encouraged to apply their learning through debates, research projects, and enrichment programmes such as guest lectures and university visits. In 2023, 85% of students achieved grades 9–4 in English and 83% in Maths, reflecting the school’s academic strength and high standards. With a supportive leadership team and a focus on both personal development and academic excellence, the college provides a nurturing yet ambitious environment for staff and students alike.
