Job description
History ECT required January 2026 Mixed secondary school based in Luton History ECT to join a well-led and mentoring-focused Humanities team Our Client is seeking a History ECT to join a structured and academically focused secondary school in Luton. The successful ECT will teach KS3 and KS4 and benefit from carefully guided planning, behaviour support systems and continuous professional development designed specifically for early career teachers. School Information This 11–18 school educates roughly 1,250 students and is recognised for its strong classroom routines, consistent behaviour expectations and robust academic outcomes. The History department delivers a well-sequenced curriculum that develops analytical writing, source evaluation and historical interpretation through structured lesson planning and moderated assessments. ECTs receive weekly mentor meetings, observational feedback, structured CPD and gradual increases in responsibility across the academic year. Staff describe the school as calm, supportive and development-driven, with leadership that prioritises teacher confidence and long-term retention.
