Job description
Head of English – Independent Secondary School, Kingston Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale (TLR available) School information: This is a highly respected 11 to 18 co-educational independent secondary school in Kingston, known for its academic rigour, exceptional pastoral care, and strong emphasis on intellectual curiosity. The school provides a nurturing yet challenging environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Staff work within a collegiate and professional culture, supported by strong leadership and excellent resources. English Department: The English department is a successful and well-established team delivering an ambitious and engaging curriculum across KS3, KS4, and KS5. As Head of English, you will lead curriculum design, assessment strategy, and departmental development, ensuring consistently high-quality teaching and learning. You will also play a key role in mentoring staff and contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives and enrichment activities.
