A leading Outstanding Ofsted-rated Secondary School and Sixth Form in Elswick, known for its excellent Humanities outcomes and commitment to critical thinking, seeks a talented Religious Studies Teacher for a Maternity Cover, Full-Time role, commencing January 2026. Compensation & Contract Job Title: Religious Studies Teacher Contract: Maternity Cover, Full-Time Start Date: January 2026 Salary: Paid on the Main/Upper Teachers' Pay Scales (MPS/UPS). The Role The successful Religious Studies Teacher will teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 to 5 (A-Level), ensuring strong philosophical and ethical understanding during the cover period. You will benefit from a highly collegiate departmental environment, which prioritises shared pedagogical best practice, particularly around structured debate and essay writing. The Religious Studies Teacher will play a key role in raising attainment and participation in the Humanities department at Key Stage 5. The institution seeks an experienced Religious Studies Teacher capable of motivating and engaging a diverse student body during the cover period. The ideal Religious Studies Teacher will be committed to fulfilling pastoral responsibilities, thereby reinforcing the school’s nurturing ethos.
