Job description
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Twickenham, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Early Years education and committed to helping young children thrive in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. The school values inclusion, teamwork, and high-quality provision. Staff collaborate closely to ensure all pupils feel supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Leadership is approachable and prioritises professional development and staff wellbeing. The Role As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning for Reception and Nursery pupils. You will assist with daily activities, group and individual learning, and help maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment. Observation and support will help track children’s progress and contribute to their ongoing development. You will also communicate effectively with colleagues and, where appropriate, parents and carers to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in planning and delivering learning activities Assist with group work and individual support for pupils Observe and record pupils’ progress in line with the EYFS framework Help maintain a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning Work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Have experience working with young children in an educational setting Be reliable, enthusiastic, and patient Understand the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Be proactive and adaptable to different classroom needs Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding Work well as part of a collaborative team What the School Offers Supportive and experienced Early Years team Well-resourced indoor and outdoor learning spaces Opportunities for training and professional development Leadership that values staff wellbeing A welcoming and inclusive school culture Engaged, motivated pupils eager to learn Location The school is located in Twickenham, with excellent transport links and a strong local community.
