Job description
Are you an ambitious and inspirational Head of Drama looking for a leadership opportunity at an Ofsted ‘Good’ school in Cambridge? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Head of Drama to lead and develop Drama provision within a high-achieving secondary school in Cambridge, starting in February or April 2026. About the Role Role: Head of Drama Start Date: February / April 2026 Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire Key Stages: KS3–KS4, with potential for A-Level Salary: Competitive, paid to scale (MPS/UPS) + TLR We are seeking a committed and creative Head of Drama to provide strong leadership for the department, inspire high-quality teaching and learning, and promote Drama as a vibrant and valued subject across the school. The successful candidate will combine excellent subject knowledge with the ability to motivate students and support colleagues to achieve outstanding outcomes. About the School This Ofsted ‘Good’ school in Cambridge places a strong emphasis on staff development, wellbeing, and collaboration. Leaders actively support professional growth and encourage innovation, creating an environment where teachers and middle leaders can thrive. The school’s success is driven by dedicated, passionate staff who are committed to helping students reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. Develop and implement an engaging, ambitious Drama curriculum across KS3–KS4 (and KS5 where applicable). Support, mentor, and inspire colleagues within the department. Monitor student progress, assessment, and outcomes to drive continuous improvement. Promote extracurricular Drama activities, including productions and performances.
