Job description
An Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Basingstoke, recognised by Ofsted for its exceptional inclusivity and student outcomes, is seeking a SENCO to lead their SEND provision from January 2026. This is a key leadership role within a compassionate and high-performing school community. About the Role The SENCO will lead the strategic management of SEND provision, ensuring that every student receives tailored support to achieve their full potential. Responsibilities include coordinating EHCPs, overseeing intervention programmes, liaising with external agencies, and guiding teachers in adaptive and inclusive classroom practice. The role also involves delivering staff training on differentiation, behaviour strategies, and assistive technology, as well as mentoring teaching assistants to ensure consistent, high-quality support. The SEND Department is well-resourced with dedicated intervention suites, sensory spaces, and assistive learning tools that promote accessibility and independence.
