Location: Reading, Berkshire Start Date: September 2025 Salary: Competitive, in line with experience Are you an enthusiastic Geography Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to begin your teaching career in a prestigious independent school in Reading? About the School The Geography Department is committed to developing global citizens, helping students understand physical and human geography through interactive lessons, research projects, and fieldwork opportunities. Why This Opportunity is Ideal for an ECT Bespoke ECT Support: A structured mentorship programme, including training and one-on-one guidance. Your Role as a Geography ECT Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. Inspire students to explore environmental challenges, geopolitics, and global issues. Work closely with an experienced mentor, receiving tailored support and training. Encourage students to develop a passion for geography through discussions, debates, and case studies. Lead extracurricular activities, including geography clubs and field trips. What We Are Looking For A Geography graduate with QTS (or working towards it). A passion for teaching Geography and helping students connect with the world around them. An engaging and adaptable teaching style that caters to all learners. A collaborative and proactive educator who contributes to department initiatives.
