Job description
The Opportunity A successful and values-driven secondary school in Warwickshire is seeking a motivated Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities faculty from September 2026, or earlier if available. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for an Early Career Teacher who is eager to begin their professional journey in a nurturing, well-structured environment. You will teach RE across Key Stages 3 to 5 and play an active role in shaping a curriculum that encourages curiosity, debate, and respect. What We’re Looking For We welcome applications from teachers who: Hold QTS, PGCE, or are currently completing teacher training Have strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies, Philosophy, or Ethics Can teach engaging and reflective lessons at GCSE, and ideally A-Level Are enthusiastic about fostering discussion, empathy, and understanding Value collaboration, self-improvement, and contributing to school life Experience in enrichment or community projects linked to faith, ethics, or philosophy would be an advantage but is not essential. Enthusiasm, commitment, and potential are what matter most. About the School This 11–18 academy serves around 1,000 students and is part of a respected local trust. It combines academic ambition with a strong moral ethos, promoting values such as hard work, kindness, and personal responsibility. Students are well-behaved, courteous, and take pride in their school community, contributing to a calm and purposeful atmosphere. The RE department is a well-established part of the Humanities faculty, delivering a curriculum that blends world religions, ethics, philosophy, and citizenship. Lessons encourage reflection and respect, and students engage in thoughtful debate about global issues and moral questions. The subject is supported by an experienced team who share resources, co-plan units, and provide strong mentorship for new staff. Teachers describe a friendly, down-to-earth culture where colleagues look out for one another. Students will explore moral questions, faith traditions and philosophical inquiry, developing understanding and empathy through discussion and reflection. You will take responsibility for assessing student progress and helping learners to meet and exceed expectations. As part of the department, you will contribute to trips, clubs and projects such as ethics debates, interfaith workshops and local community partnerships. The role also includes opportunities to lead elements of curriculum development or take on small pastoral responsibilities as you gain experience.
