Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Taunton is seeking a motivated and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join their department. This is an excellent opportunity to teach in a supportive school that values practical learning, creativity, and strong technical outcomes. The Role You will teach Design Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that balances theory with hands-on practical work. The role focuses on developing students’ design thinking, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills while maintaining high standards of behaviour and safety. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering high-quality Design Technology lessons Teaching practical and theory-based content across core DT areas Supporting students in developing design, manufacturing, and evaluation skills Assessing progress and providing clear, constructive feedback Maintaining a safe, organised workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements Contributing to shared planning and departmental development The School Environment The school offers a calm and structured learning environment with clear expectations and positive student behaviour.
